Both the Luce and EQS have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The Luce has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The EQS’ child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, Full-Time Four-Wheel Drive is standard on the Luce. But it costs extra on the EQS.

The Luce comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The EQS’ 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

Ferrari pays for scheduled maintenance on the Luce for 7 years and unlimited miles. Ferrari will pay for brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Mercedes doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the EQS.

The Luce’s electric motors produces 680 more horsepower (1035 vs. 355) and 311 lbs.-ft. more torque (730 vs. 419) than the EQS 450+’s standard electric motor. The Luce’s electric motors produces 680 more horsepower (1035 vs. 355) and 140 lbs.-ft. more torque (730 vs. 590) than the EQS 450 4MATIC’s standard electric motors. For better traction, the Luce has larger tires than the EQS (F:265/35R23 & R:315/30R24 vs. 255/45R20).

The Luce’s 265/35R23 front and 315/30R24 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the EQS’ standard 45 series tires. The Luce’s tires are lower profile than the EQS’ optional 40 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Luce has standard 23-inch front and 24-inch rear wheels. Smaller 20-inch wheels are standard on the EQS. The EQS’ largest wheels are only 21-inches.

The Luce offers an available active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Mercedes doesn’t offer an active suspension on the EQS.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Luce is 1.2 inches wider in the front and .3 inches wider in the rear than on the EQS.

The Ferrari Luce may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 500 to 800 pounds less than the Mercedes EQS.
